The history of the Czech spa industry began hundreds of years ago. The benefits of the spa waters was already appreciated by Emperor Charles IV. 
In the whole of the Czech Republic, you will not find an area as rich in mineral and thermal springs as the “Spa Triangle” in the west of the country. The three best known spa towns – Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně and Františkovy Lázně – were nominated for inclusion as UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to their uniqueness.
