The foundation of the Telč town dates back approximately to the year 1099 CE. The square lined with picturesque houses with gables and arcades corresponds with its extent approximately to the conditions of time when the town was founded. At that time the houses were in Gothic style. In the mid of 15th century the arcades and entire fronts with gables were constructed in front of the most houses according to united plans. The Telč chateau belongs to the gems of the Moravian Renaissance architecture. Its attractivness is raised because of the fact that the original interiors have been preserved in good repair here. The most majestic interior of the Telč chateau is the Golden Hall. The landmark of the chateau is the park of chateau located north-west of the chateau. Its origin dates back to the 16th century. It is formed by splendid secular trees and we can see a number of rare timber species here. The classicistic greenhouse is a part of the park as well. The Renaissance garden of the chateau Telč originated in the 70th of the 16th century and belongs to the oldest architectonic gardens in the Czech Republic.
