The town New Plzeň was founded at the confluence of the rivers Radbuza, Mže, Úhlava and Úslava in 1295 by the Czech king Wenceslas II.. Since its beginning the town became an important trade center at the significant crossroads of the routes linking Norimberg with Regensburg. Between 1599 – 1600 Plzeň was temporarily the seat of the Roman Emperor and Czech King, Rudolf II. The enormous blossoming of the town began in the first half of the 19th century. The Citizen´s brewery was founded in 1842 and the engineering Škoda-Company in the same period as well. We will be very pleased to arrange for you the visit of the world-known brewery Pilsner Urquell within this excursion.
