PRIVAT 3 ČESKÝ KRUMLOV - PRIVATE

Český Krumlov town is first mentioned in the document dating back to 1253, in which Krumlov is named as Chrumbenowe in the domains act of the future Czech king Přemysl Otakar II. Both town and castle achieved the biggest blossoming during the reign of the family Rosenberg in the 14th-16th centuries. Since 1622 Český Krumlov was owned by Eggenbergs during three generations and then by their heirs Schwarzenbergs.

The Český Krumlov chateau is the second biggest castle´s and chateau´s complex in the Czech Republic and represents one of the landmarks of the town. The originally Gothic castle from the 13th century was rebuilt in the 16th century in Renaissance style. In the 17th and 18th centuries the Baroque and Rococo modifications were carried out. Besides the chateau´s interiors several further historical delicacies are offered to you in the form of the chateau´s Baroque garden dating from 17th century or the Baroque theatre, which is one of the most preserved Baroque theatres worldwide. Since the time of the reign of the last Rosenbergs the bears have been kept in the chateau. Not only children like stopping above the moat where the bears live.
